Making the Move

Breaking Spells is currently under the process of being moved from its original location, hosted by the fine folks at WordPress.com, to this new location, hosted by 1and1.com. The advantages to me would be that I can modify the CSS/HTML of the site, install custom themes, install custom widgets, etc. It also gives me my own domain.

If you have a blog of your own and you’re thinking of moving from a host like Blogspot or WordPress, check out 1and1.com. I researched several hosting/domain registration sites and they were the best I could find. I even spoke with several others who used their services and got nothing but positive responses. They were even willing to answer my questions about their services before I even signed up.

Please be patient with me as I finish tidying up the place. Oh, and if you have any comments or criticisms about the new look, please feel free to post them here. I already see that the left margin of this theme might not be pleasant and I’m trying to adjust it, but I chose this theme primarily because of the way it handles Recent Comments, Recent Posts, and Archives to the left.

And any ads I put on the front page will be small and relevant with only the expectation of possibly making enough money to host the site each year and possibly boost my bandwidth with a better package sometime down the road.

About Ylooshi

An anthropologist who is an atheist. My blog at breakingspells.net concerns itself with breaking the spells of superstition and religious belief through examining human superstitions and religions scientifically and rationally. Breaking Spells, the blog, also focuses on atheist and secular concerns such as the separation of church and state as well as the negative influences of Islamo-Judeo-Christian religious cults on society.
