Do you find my brain? - Auf der Suche nach mei...

I’m a rationalist in the Dallas / Fort Worth region of Texas who has no belief in gods or other superstitions and paranormal things that seem to appeal to humanity. I do, however, think that there are scientific explanations for belief, religion and superstition, which can be understood by examining these features of humanity, past and present.

I chose to keep myself anonymous on this blog so that I might be free to say what I truly think rather than submit to apprehensions (conscious or unconscious) of what might be thought of me by potential employers, colleagues, students or governments I might wish to visit. I can’t very well criticize Islam and expect a warm welcome to an Islamic nation… what if I want to name my dog Muhammad?

I’m John Evo from the blog Evolutionary Middleman. As a fellow member of the Atheist Blogroll I wanted to give you folks a special invitation to stop by our new atheist podcast, Another Goddamned Podcast. It is the brainchild of 7 of your fellow atheist bloggers and we just started doing podcasts last week that explore issues of particular interest to those who see themselves as rationalists, free-thinkers, humanists, skeptics, etc. and are passionate about science, culture and politics. We plan on have guest bloggers on from time to time and each program will endeavor to hit on major topics of the day, along with some light-hearted fair seen through the happy eyes of atheists! Please stop by and leave your input. We’d find it most valuable, especially in these early days of the podcast as our format continues to “evolve”!

This is a good blog. I am going to link to it from my new blog project at aaronboruff.wordpress.com.

This website is infested with gratuitous, annoying popover windows.

  4. I think you should download Ad Aware from Lavasoft (or some other, comparable software) to check your machine.

This is WordPress and everyone knows WP doesn’t do advertising and popups.

Once you’ve cleaned your machine of malware and spyware, download Firefox 3 and install Adblock to prevent future infections.

    Good luck with that.

I find it interesting that…what I think or what you think or what someone thinks, many times has no bearing on what is reality. We were created. Our incredible intricately designed bodies (or just consider an eyeball or a brain) and all it’s parts could not have possible just happened…or evolved from sea scum…I don’t care how many zeros you want to put in the “years” category. My choosing, or your choosing to NOT believe something – does not change the truth of that reality.
    Blessings.

When either of these are considered by informed and educated observation and analysis, they’re both obviously evolved. Indeed, there is no logical reason to suggest that they are not. The only way to arrive at a conclusion that biological organisms or their organs (eyes or brains) are “designed,” is to begin in total ignorance and refuse an education. And your choosing to remain undereducated an ignorant doesn’t change the reality and the fact of evolution.

    Blessings.

Define what a “blessing” is. How is such a concept quantified?

What audience are you trying to reach. If you only want other atheists to read your work, wouldn’t that in itself make your work moot? I mean, who are you trying to persuade? Most Christians will not continue to read your work, because you are so rude to them. If you have no-one voicing a different view point, how can you continue to discuss it? Don’t take my words personally. If you were preaching the Word of God and treated atheists who came to your site with the same amount of disdain, I would be asking the same questions. I personally do not subscribe to any religion, but I believe that we can learn much from all of them.

I guess I’m just wondering why you went to so much trouble to create this very nice website and continue to post on it.

Why? I knew you’d visit and read. Which you did. :-)

    Thanks for visiting and commenting.
